Beware of solvent-extracted neem meal being sold as pure neem cake. Solvent extraction removes the bioactive limonoids (including Azadirachtin and Salannin), rendering the product virtually ineffective against soil-borne nematodes like Meloidogyne incognita. Pure cold-pressed neem cake will have a pungent aroma and an oil content of 4% to 8%.
